How do you track my sales?
We use Clickbank to process our sales and track our partner referrals. When you promote a product, you direct traffic to our sales page using a ClickBank hoplink. This link contains your partner ID, and when customers arrive at our sales site through this link, a first-party cookie is issued which is valid for 60 days. If the customer makes a purchase within those 60 days (provided they haven't followed any product specific hoplinks from other partners) you will be credited with the sale. For more information on ClickBank hoplinks, visit http://www.clickbank.com/hoplinkfaq.html.

What's this "affiliate" word I keep seeing everywhere?
The term "affiliate" is the term commonly used by Clickbank and other commission based promotion programs to refer to what I call partners. I prefer "partner" because it's more friendly and is more in keeping with our company values.

What if someone signs up for a free report or e-course on your sales page?
Do I get credit for the sale if they ultimately buy from promotions in those emails?
Your clickbank ID follows the potential customer so promoting the free report or e-course is actually the easiest and best way to make partner income. The visitor will get emails that build a relationship and effectively pre-sell them. Each time they get an email they get another chance to buy the product. If and when they do buy the product, the sale is recorded as above, and you get your commission. Easy peasy.

How much money can I expect to earn with your partner program?
That depends on a very large number of factors. We've done our best to provide an excellent product, a high commission rate, strong sales site, lead capture to presell your prospect, and a number of resources for partners to use to promote our products, but the rest of it is up to you.
We find that traffic to your website (or number of people on your mailing list) doesn't so much determine your earnings as much as your conversion rate -- does your audience listen to you and respect your judgment enough to click the link? In this way, smaller sites can often earn just as much or more than larger sites, and mailing lists are an excellent way to promote products.

How often, when and how do I get paid?
ClickBank posts checks twice per month, on the 1st and the 16th. Your sales need to reach a certain level before ClickBank will send you a check — You can specify this threshold when you set up your ClickBank account. The default is $100. For more details on ClickBank's account policies, visit http://www.clickbank.com/accounting.html.

Is anyone able to become a partner?
So long as you intend to promote our products in an appropriate manner, you're welcome to become a partner.

Can anyone from any country become a partner?
By using ClickBank, we're restricted to the countries from which ClickBank accepts clients — at present, this is more than 100 countries. Check out the Clickbank Signup Form to see if your country is listed.

How much does it cost to become a partner?
Nothing! It's absolutely free.

Are there a minimum number of sales I need to reach to remain a partner?
No, you can remain a partner as long as you like, regardless of how many sales you make. There is a minimum amount you need to earn through partner sales before ClickBank will issue you with a check. You choose this amount when you sign up with ClickBank. See http://www.clickbank.com/accounting.html for more information.

How do I promote products?
You'll find some twitter tweets, articles, graphics, and e-zine content pieces in this partner resource site. You're welcome to use these to promote our products, or you can develop your own. We find that the best way to promote any product is to recommend them to your friends, existing customers or subscriber base, but you may also wish to use paid advertisements like Adwords to promote our products.
You'll also find reviews that you can re-work to promote our products.
We insist you re-work the reviews in your own voice, and that you review the actual product yourself before posting a review on your website or elsewhere.
In the USA, the FTC is cracking down on people claiming to get results from products when in reality they have not actually bought the product themselves, and even if they weren't, it is unethical and against the values of our company to have partners that post reviews that are a lie.
Reviews are an excellent way to promote products, but you must be smart and ethical about it. Using the product reviews as-is, and not being an actual customer, is absolutely prohibited. If we suspect an partner of posting an insincere review (i.e. reviewing without actually reading/ using the product him/herself) the partner account will be terminated and you will forfeit all commissions owing. Yup, we are serious. The reviews are provided as samples for you to kick start your own writing and are not for tricking people. Very very serious about this.

Do I have to have my own website in order to become a partner?
It does help, but it's not at all necessary to have your own website. Many partners promote our products through newsletters, email footers, twitter tweets, classified ads, pay-per-click and search engine listings. You could even print your advertisement on a t-shirt and make your child wear it to school everyday — so long as you include your partner link, you're only limited by your imagination.

Do I have to purchase your product before I can become a partner?
It would certainly add an air of authenticity to your campaign, and those who "know" the product are much better advocates of any product and tend to do much better as partners. However, you're under no obligation to buy any of our products. Hopefully we've provided enough information on the website and in our promotional pieces to give your customers the whole picture.

Do I get your products for free if I join your partner program?
Sorry, we're not able to give free copies to all partners. It seems like a fair request, but many partners might just sign up to receive the free products with no real intention of promoting them. We do give you a very high commission though -- so don't think we don't love you. We do! We just show it in a different way.

Can I use unsolicited email to promote your products?
It's very polite of you to ask, but absolutely not. We hate spam. We hate spammers. If we suspect an partner of engaging in this sort of behavior, your account will be terminated and you will forfeit all commissions owing. Yes, we're serious about this one too..

I've made sales but I haven't received a check from Clickbank! What's happened?
There are a number of factors in ClickBank's payment policy that can cause this.
- What is your minimum payout threshold set to? The default minimum is $100, which means that ClickBank won't send out a check until you make sales equal to or more than this amount. You can change this figure in your ClickBank account settings.
- To comply with US law regarding distribution of customers, ClickBank requires that you make at least five partner sales before it will pay out on your account. In these sales there needs to be at least one sale made with Mastercard, and one made with Visa.

Why don't my partner commissions equal 50% of the product price?
For each sale, ClickBank takes $1 + 7.5% of the original price as a commission, and then you receive 50% of the remainder.
